International Federation of Customs Brokers Associations

The International Federation of Customs Brokers Associations, commonly referred to as the IFCBA, began in 1989 when associations representing the customs brokerage industry in six nations -- Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand and the United States -- met at the Pacific Rim Customs Brokers Conference in Hawaii. At that time, these associations decided to establish a professional international business network where the industry could strategize about future challenges. The organization was officially formed in November, 1990 at its first conference, held in Singapore. Since that time the IFCBA has welcomed member associations from Angola, Argentina, Greece, Hungary, India, Israel, Jamaica, Mauritius, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, the People’s Republic of China, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Uruguay. Our membership currently stands at 27 countries. We have business members in 12 countries, and representation in a total of 33 countries.

What is a Customs Broker?
Customs brokers bring together critical business information that allows importers to clear their goods safely, securely and quickly through Customs. They manage your business data to ensure your goods meet Customs’ requirements.

They can also help traders turn Customs information into highly useful business intelligence.

Many customs brokers offer special services that will help you develop new products, explore new markets, learn about global change, and cut costs.

Make sure your shipments comply with Customs requirements
